That this House is deeply concerned that Asiya Bibi, a Pakistani Christian woman, has been sentenced to death in Pakistan under the blasphemy laws; notes that she is the first woman to be sentenced to death under these laws; further notes that an appeal is pending; and calls on the Government and the international community to urgently lobby the government of Pakistan and to do everything it can to prevent such a barbaric act.
