Knife Sales On The Internet

EDM number 1628 in 2010-12, proposed by Robert Halfon on 17/03/2011.
Categorised under the topic of Offensive weapons.

That this House is deeply concerned at the numerous UK-based Internet companies such as Blade Bargains, Whipperleys, The Hermit's Grotto, World Knives Ltd and Defenderknives.com which are selling dangerous knives, often to children; notes that unfortunately in the last year there were nearly 100 knife crimes in Harlow alone, giving it a higher per capita rate of knife crime than in London; further notes that local Harlow police community support officers, Phyllis Chipchase and Karen Rogers, and Harlow Council are working hard to tackle the problem; and urges the Government to look at this issue to see if urgent steps can be taken, so that the Big Society means a safe society.

This motion has been signed by a total of 19 MPs.
