Ethics Of Law Firms

EDM number 120 in 2012-13, proposed by Barry Sheerman on 22/05/2012.
Categorised under the topics of Legal profession and Parliament.

That this House is disturbed by evidencethat legal firms in the UK are increasingly combining their legal services with a lobbying function; notes that this practice in the US has compromised legal standards; is concerned that the proposed register of lobbyists would not cover such law firms and their lobbying activities; and calls on the Government to act to discourage this trend in the UK, in partnership with the Law Society and other professional associations.

This motion has been signed by a total of 18 MPs.
