That this House condemns the cowardly and cruel shooting of 14 year old Malala Yousafzai and her two friends; expresses solidarity with them and their families at this time; notes that Malala was targeted for her courage in campaigning against the Taliban and for education as a basic right for girls; commends the efforts of the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs and his words of condemnation; thanks the NHS staff at Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham who are providing treatment to her; joins with parliamentarians from the European Parliament in urging the President of Pakistan to ensure the swift capture of those involved to ensure that they answer for their crimes; and wishes Malala a full and speedy recovery from her injuries.
