That this House congratulates the people of Glasgow, Steven Purcell, Leader of Glasgow City Council, Glasgow City Council, the 2014 bid team and all those connected with securing the 2014 Commonwealth Games for the City of Glasgow; and urges the UK Government to provide all necessary support and backing to ensure the success of the Games.
