Road Safety And Glow Power

That this House believes that road safety remains a crucial issue requiring a partnership of government, the private and voluntary sectors and members of the public; welcomes and supports the third annual Vauxhall Glow Power road safety initiative which was launched when the clocks went back at the end of October; welcomes Vauxhall's partnership with the Institute of Advanced Motorists in offering free night-driving sessions to encourage adults to take particular care when driving at night; supports other activities involved in Glow Power including the distribution of reflective armbands and Key Stage II education packs to primary schools countrywide; notes that Glow Power shares a common purpose with the Government's Be Safe, Be Seen road safety campaign; notes that Glow Power has won the endorsement of the Child Accident Prevention Trust, the Association of Chief Police Officers and the Institute of Road Safety Officers; and urges all honourable Members to support local Glow Power activities that are taking place throughout the country and other road safety initiatives.
