Tuition Fees

EDM number 122 in 2000-01, proposed by Jenny Tonge on 19/12/2000.

That this House is shocked that the average graduate debt is ú5,286 and notes that with the impact of the introduction of tuition fees beginning to be felt this seems likely to rise to over ú10,000; further notes that the abolition of tuition fees and the reintroduction of grants in Scotland has significantly eased student poverty in Scotland; and therefore calls on Her Majesty's Government to follow the example of the Scottish Executive and scrap tuition fees.

This motion has been signed by a total of 73 MPs.
