Princes Trust Football Initiative

That this House congratulates The Prince's Trust Football Initiative, along with their partners, the FA Premier League, Football Foundation and Professional Footballers Association, for the great success they are having in tackling social exclusion amongst disadvantaged young people; notes that last year The Prince's Trust Football Initiative involved 6,000 young people out of a total of 33,000 helped by The Prince's Trust; recognises and congratulates the 56 Premier and Football League clubs, Ipswich Town, Norwich City, Watford, Southend United, Colchester United, Leicester City, Derby County, Nottingham Forest, Northampton Town, Lincoln City, Aston Villa, Coventry City, Wolverhampton Wanderers, Birmingham City, Walsall, Stoke City, Port Vale, Arsenal, Brentford, Chelsea, Fulham, Tottenham Hotspur, West Ham United, Crystal Palace, Oxford United, AFC Bournemouth, Swindon Town, Bristol Rovers, Bristol City, Plymouth Argyle, Cheltenham Town, Middlesbrough, Newcastle, AFC Sunderland, Hartlepool United, Blackburn Rovers, Bolton Wanderers, Everton, Liverpool, Manchester City, Manchester United, Burnley, Crewe Alexandra, Preston North End, Wigan Athletic, Blackpool, Tranmere Rovers, Carlisle United, Leeds United, Sheffield Wednesday and York City, for providing the trust with facilities and special activities, thus not only facilitating the success of the initiative but making a great contribution to improving the lives of young people within their own localities; and calls on the Government to recognises the success of this initiative and to use it as a template in dealing with the social exclusion of young people.
