London Olympic Bid
EDM number 75 in 2003-04, proposed by David Davis on 26/11/2003.
That this House fully supports the London bid for the Olympic Games in 2012; believes that an Olympic Games in London would realise significant benefits for sport, health, transport, tourism, jobs and regeneration not just for London but for the nation as a whole; recognises that other cities, including Paris and New York, are also likely to produce strong bids; welcomes the cross-party support that the bid has so far benefited from; and calls on Her Majesty's Government to offer greater support to the bid so that London is successful in 2005.
