Microgeneration

EDM number 22 in 2004-05, proposed by Tim Yeo on 23/11/2004.

That this House recognises the contribution that microgeneration of renewable energy could make to security of supply and Government's renewable energy targets; welcomes the formation on 22nd April of the Micropower Council, the purpose of which is to promote microgeneration of all kinds; welcomes the Clause in the Energy Bill which requires the drawing up and implementation of a strategy for microgeneration; looks forward to the microgeneration strategy being drawn up by the Secretary of State; and urges the Government to further encourage the regulator Ofgem and energy suppliers to provide for the network transformation required to enable all householders and businesses to participate in microgeneration.
