Nuremberg

EDM number 1080 in 2005-06, proposed by Tony Baldry on 22/11/2005.

That this House notes the 60th anniversary of the Nuremberg Trials that established that those most responsible for war crimes are accountable for their actions before international criminal courts; recalls the contribution to the success of the Nuremberg Trials of the work of Lord Shawcross, Sir David Maxwell Fyfe and junior counsel such as Colonel Gerald Draper; further notes the work now being done by the International Criminal Court; and urges the Government to give full support to the prosecution of war crimes.
