Parliamentary Creche

EDM number 2544 in 2005-06, proposed by Austin Mitchell on 11/07/2006.

That this House recognises that Scottish hon. Members, their staff and staff of the Scottish Parliament all have the benefit of a crèche from 8am to 6pm for their children aged between six weeks and five years; commends this example to the Palace of Westminster; and urges the Administration Committee to reconsider, in conjunction with the Lords, the possibility of providing a crèche on the Parliamentary estate or close nearby, to make Parliament more family-friendly and to provide the service and support which hon. Members and staff with small children deserve.

This motion has been signed by a total of 61 MPs.
