International Day For Victims Of Chemical Weapons

EDM number 605 in 2005-06, proposed by Harry Cohen on 18/07/2005.

That this House urges the Government to show its concern for all affected by the use of chemical weapons by proposing to the United Nations that 10th August, the day on which spraying of Agent Orange in Vietnam began, be set aside each year as an international day on which all who have died from use of chemical weapons are commemorated, along with all those who are still suffering illnesses and physical disabilities consequent upon their use; and calls on the Government to lead a world-wide ban on chemical weapons, with all existing stocks being destroyed.

This motion has been signed by a total of 75 MPs.
