Childhood Wellbeing And Social Mobility

EDM number 1809 in 2006-07, proposed by Paul Burstow on 02/07/2007.

That this House welcomes the publication of the charity NCH's report, Emotional Wellbeing and Social Mobility - A New Urgency to the Debate, into the extent to which emotional wellbeing is a key factor in determining social mobility; recognises that emotional wellbeing is becoming an increasingly important issue in deciding young people's life chances and that there is a growing urgency in the need to tackle problems around emotional wellbeing; supports NCH's new Growing Strong campaign to raise awareness of this issue; and urges the Government to ensure that its education, health and social policies are informed by an explicit focus on developing the emotional wellbeing of children and young people.

This motion has been signed by a total of 96 MPs.
