That this House recognises the value of regional breweries and the specialist and traditional beers they produce; notes that the North West is home to some of the oldest traditional breweries in the country such as Hydes in Manchester, established in 1863, Robinson's of Stockport, Greenfield's of Oldham, Holt's of Manchester, and Moorhouses of Burnley; congratulates Blackburn brewery Daniel Thwaites for securing a contract to supply its beers to British embassies across the world; acknowledges that survival is not easy for smaller breweries; and calls for support for the diverse and exciting range of ales that regional breweries produce.
