That this House welcomes the decision made by GlaxoSmithKline to reduce the amount of sugar in two of their best selling drinks; notes that Lucozade will reduce sugar content by 8 per cent and Ribena by 10 per cent; recognises that food and soft drink manufacturers must take some responsibility for helping people to make healthier choices; further notes that currently the Responsibility Deal agreements with industry are voluntary; recommends other manufacturers follow suit and reduce sugar content in their products; and calls on the Government to introduce legislation to limit the amount of sugar, salt and fat in food and drink.
