Invalid Care Allowance

EDM number 153 in 1999-00, proposed by Lawrence Cunliffe on 07/12/1999.

That this House calls upon the Government to review the invalid care allowance limit of ú50 which permits carers to undertake part-time work without loss of entitlement; further views with concern the fact that the ú50 limit has never been increased in line with inflation since its inception and is now much less valuable to a carer; and notes that the problem is further compounded by the national minimum wage because people are earning much more in previously low-paid part-time work.

This motion has been signed by a total of 75 MPs, 1 of these signatures have been withdrawn.
