Closure Of Commercial Vehicle Testing Stations

EDM number 2018 in 2008-09, proposed by Ann Cryer on 13/10/2009.
Categorised under the topic of Roads.

That this House is concerned that the closure of commercial vehicle testing stations under the Department for Transport's policy of privatising 85 per cent. of commercial vehicle annual tests by 2012 could adversely affect road safety, the environment and the viability of small businesses; and calls on the Vehicle and Operator Services Agency to suspend the closure of its testing stations until viable alternative arrangements are in place for all UK operators.

This motion has been signed by a total of 54 MPs.
