Future Of The Nhs Blood And Transplant Service

EDM number 1995 in 2010-12, proposed by Margaret Ritchie on 23/06/2011.
Categorised under the topic of Health services.

That this House calls for a review of the proposals for the future of the NHS Blood and Transplant service to ensure that it remains publicly owned and kept within the NHS so that this service remains based on free donations of blood and organs where profits are not made; recognises that the core value of the present system is based on individuals and charities giving voluntarily; and believes this should not be jeopardised with competitive tendering and outsourcing to the private sector.

This motion has been signed by a total of 54 MPs.
