Campaign For A Second Cancer Plan

EDM number 1175 in 2005-06, proposed by Ian Gibson on 01/12/2005.

That this House welcomes the Cancer Campaigning Group's call for a second NHS Cancer Plan; further welcomes the launch of their 2005 Calls for Action calling for greater investment and commitment to research, care, treatment and patient involvement; commends the Cancer Campaigning Group on bringing together 28 cancer charities to speak with one voice; notes that the current NHS Cancer Plan, introduced in 2000, needs immediate review in light of new challenges; and calls upon the Government urgently to introduce a second cross-departmental plan to tackle cancer.

This motion has been signed by a total of 125 MPs.
