Black Watch

EDM number 56 in 2012-13, proposed by Jim McGovern on 14/05/2012.

That this House calls on the Government to protect the identity of the Black Watch and the other historic battalions of Scotland; recognises the centuries of brave and loyal service of the Black Watch and urges that it be maintained as an integral part of the British Army within the UK; acknowledges the deep ties that the Black Watch has with local communities of Tayside and Fife, including the city of Dundee; and calls on the Government to abandon its callous plans to rob Scottish communities of their historic army units.

This motion has been signed by a total of 16 MPs.
